Dreamscape

When you first step into this dreamscape, it's beautiful. Peaceful and serene, it's a vast green garden with colorful flowers, a few trees, and a small bubbling stream. Everything about this place is warm and calm, and it seems like somewhere you could spend eternity.

But as you walk through it, slowly the sun seems to go behind a cloud, the temperature drops, and the pressure rises a bit; it's like a storm is coming in. The ground is scattered with ash, kicked up as you walk, turning the once peaceful scene into an eerie and lonely one.

There's a rocky shoreline ahead, water dark from the limited light, or maybe it's just dark normally? The edge of the water is turbulent but silent, and if you go too close it may begin to beckon you in toward the endlessly toothy mouths waiting just below the surface.

As you look around the landscape a pristine building will appear, untouched by the ash and the darkness. It's an average cheap motel you'd find along any road, but as you step inside, it feels both even smaller and enormous all at once; there are far too many rooms for it's size but everything about it is confining, like you're trapped underground. As you make your way through the building, doors open and shut; one room is full of fire, another complete darkness and whispers in an unknown language, another splattered with more blood than should ever be possible.

The feeling of being trapped just worsens as you continue, and your emotions seem to be going haywire; it's hard to understand what you're feeling or why, but it's overwhelmingly negative and confusing, and there's a great sense of loss.

The last room is stark white, empty, perfectly sterile and cold. When you enter, the door shifts, and every time you try to reach it, it moves. The walls begin to flash, just for split seconds, with horrifying scenes; they last longer each time and soon, the entire room is nothing but the awful images.

Suddenly it all stops and returns to white and a figure appears, appearance changing and shifting, and it will give an order. It might be mundane or elaborate, but the choice is yours; obey, and you'll be let back into the rest of the building, but you're trapped until you enter the white room and do it all over again. Refuse, and you'll be left there for what seems like forever before the figure returns to give you the same choice. Fight, and you will likely die, but if not you'll make it out and find yourself on the bank of a reservoir, soaking wet, near a highway.

Follow the highway, if you're still able, and a distance down the bloody and lonely road you'll find Castiel. He's already fought his own way out and is similarly drenched and bloody, sword in hand, worn and shaken, but ready to continue. There's more to face before you can truly escape this particular dreamscape, but at least neither of you are alone.
